It’s a very exciting time to join the (NGET) National Grid Electricity Transmission (AO) Asset Operations Team as a CDM Advisor. You’ll work closely on Cyber Investments and play a key role in (OT) Operational Technology projects to strengthen the cyber resilience of our networks, working with internal & external stakeholders to ensure we efficiently deliver on NGET commitments which are at the heart of keeping our networks secure. 


As a CDM Advisor, you’ll have expert knowledge of the (Construction Design & Management) CDM Regulations 2015, associated legislation and relevant National Grid procedures as well as practical experience in complying with their requirements in a High Voltage environment. This will enable you to provide advice and assistance on CDM-related issues during pre-construction and construction phases. You must also understand how to carry out the duties of Principal Designer Representative (PD Rep) on a variety of HV projects when National Grid is undertaking the responsibilities of Principal Designer.


What are the requirements?
•    Expert knowledge of the CDM Regulations and a good understanding of the requirements of UK Health and Safety legislation generally, construction related Regulations and HSE Guidance specifically. 
•    You understand the general requirements of procedural control of Temporary Works, the causes and consequences of impressed voltage and the hazards associated with National Grid projects and the risks faced by those working on them, and the general requirements of UK Environmental and waste management legislation.
•    Basic Electrical Safety Competence (BESC) and relevant H&S qualification e.g. IOSH or NEBOSH Construction certificate or higher.
•    Construction and/or Engineering Industry experience in Electricity Transmission Systems
•    Previously assessed under national Grid procedures: either (CDM-A) or assessed as NGET Combined Client Representative Development and Delivery. You should have the National Grid Person training. If these are not available at the point of appointment they should be achieved within 3 months of starting.
 

Pay and Benefits

•    £60,860 to £71,179 pa + Excellent Benefits Package.
