Female Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a young adult living with my family in the Penylan area of Cardiff. I use a wheelchair and have some learning difficulties. I love to get out and about meeting people, going to events and to the shops. I am on a work placement this year on weekdays, but am free at the weekends. I have a good sense of humour and love music, chatting and having fun.
PURPOSE OF JOB
I need someone to support me within my home and to access activities and events, and go shopping around Cardiff, at weekends,
I have a wheelchair-accessible vehicle and need someone who is happy to be on the insurance and drive, for example to Whizzkidz charity get-together events which are a little further afield.
PLACE OF WORK
At my home and in the community
HOURS OF WORK
Alternate weeks on Saturday for 6 hours, with some flexibility. Also occasional evening support on weekdays.
RATE OF PAY
£12.55 per hour
TASKS INVOLVED
Keeping me safe by supporting me in my home and enabling me to access activities in the local community
Assisting me with shopping
Going on local walks
Helping me to dress and with some personal care
Assisting me with meal preparation
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
To be patient and reliable
To enjoy attending events and meeting people
To be able and happy to drive my motability vehicle.
To adhere to confidentiality
Female PA required due to personal care needs.
ABOUT THE JOB
The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority). The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK before you start work. Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.
