Job Title:Centre Project Manager
Location: Newton Abbott
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000
Hours: The role is permanent, working Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5pm
We have an incredible opportunity to work with our well established client in Newton Abbott who are currently looking for a Centre Project Manager on a permanent basis.
Purpose of role: To manage the Technical & Engineering Depts & oversee Workshop & Service departments liaising with their Workshop & Installation team leader. Ensuring compliance & management of our Health and Safety system & legislation continues, maintain agreed budgets and striving for improvement in operational performance.
Scope:
Reporting to the General Manager, the role is very multi-purposed and will require you to oversee & manage the day-to-day activities of a highly skilled team of application/design Engineers, Internal production engineers & external service engineers, you will also be required to get involved with quotations for technical projects. You will liaise with colleagues in both the External Sales and Engineering teams to prepare for larger projects. Your role will be to manage and control their existing Health & Safety system and to introduce and continually improve procedures where required. You will also be expected to develop and manage a production planning program with the group for not only your own events but also that of others in your team, customers and colleagues. You will co-ordinate activities between sales and engineering teams to ensure that both customer and company needs are met as efficiently as possible.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and control all Technical, Engineering, Workshop and Service aspects of the business and work alongside departmental Manager, team-leaders and staff to ensure high quality efficient production and exceptional customer service is always maintained.
- Manage, control and maintain the workshops and wider business activities in compliance with company’s safety and quality policies.
- Collaborate with the Quality Manager to ensure all processes and queries are dealt with in appropriate time frame.
- Ensure communication with regards to progressing quotations and enquiries to the sales teams and customers are maintained.
- To follow up and progress technical enquiries, production schedules, repair and service work and ensure continual communication throughout the process.
- Working with your team to ensure contact with sales teams and/or customers, to advise services are due and schedule engineers to attend.
- Ensuring that all equipment & vehicle checks are completed as scheduled.
- Establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with all work colleagues, contractors and partnering agencies.
- Ensuring that the workshop & machine shop are kept clean & tidy and that thoroughfares are not cluttered or blocked.
- Manage your team, to ensure tasks are performed in a timely manner and ensure workflow is managed in line with demand both from our Warehouse, Procurement and Quality departments.
- Maintain customer expectations, including training and support within all operations under your control, including conducting disciplinary investigations, performing appraisals, performance development plans and recruitment when required.
- Participate in learning and development activities that develop personal effectiveness and assist in improving performance in the role.
- Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required in line with the level of responsibility of the post and in order to meet the changing needs of the organisation.
- Must also be prepared to talk to customers face to face to discuss any aspect of each project.
- Report as required within area of responsibility.
