Form of workEstablished over 160 years ago, Vista is the leading local sight loss charity in the UK and the largest disability charity in the East Midlands. We change the lives of the people that we reach, and each year reach more people.
This role is for an interim period of Six Months with the option to become permanent.
We are an innovative, award-winning charity, working alongside children and adults affected by sight loss in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to remove barriers to health, education, employment and social networks. As well as rehabilitation, residential homes, social groups and befriending services, we provide specialist services for people with learning disabilities, dementia and dual sensory impairment. We also work to be of benefit to people affected by sight loss across the UK, through our partnership with other local sight loss organisations.
Our work focuses on ensuring we enable and facilitate people affected by sight loss; build our profile and influence to amplify their voice; and expand our reach, including through partnership working, to ensure that people with sight loss are connected with their communities and can use their capabilities to build social networks and communities of mutual support.
We are looking for an inspirational leader who will bring their innovative and creative approach to ensure that Vista continues to strive to be of more use to the people it exists to serve.
Our next Chief Executive will be an accomplished communicator, able to build and sustain effective partnerships, and build our profile with a wide range of stakeholders. A strategic thinker, you will bring a track record of successful leadership and be able to promote a culture of ideas, innovation and entrepreneurial adventure. You will have the ability to translate strategic plans into reality, have a track record of delivering outstanding performance, and have a proven ability to secure new income streams.
We are open to leaders from any background or sector, although experience in the not-for-profit sector would be helpful. You must share our commitment to actively partnering with people affected by sight loss.
