Are you passionate about the power and vitality of theatre? Do you believe that it's possible to create world class, relevant and compelling theatre that transforms people’s lives and acts as a powerful force for inclusion, equity and justice for our shared humanity?
Leeds Playhouse is a National Portfolio Organisation. The Playhouse is a creative hub at the heart of Leeds. We are now looking for a Chair with the appetite to embrace a diverse and vibrant region that will soon host Bradford 2025 City of Culture. Our Chair will have a track record of outstanding strategic leadership, with commercial nous to help steer our organisation through a period of intense challenge on public arts funding.
You will bring a proven track record of leadership at board level, either as an executive or non-executive leader. Your experience of growing a values-driven and impactful organisation combined with high-level facilitation and decision-making skills will enable organisational excellence, helping to secure financial resilience.
Naturally ambassadorial, you are not one to shy away from a challenge. You will draw on your experience of building strong relationships and networks, collegiate collaboration, positive decision-making and effective problem-solving to ensure our organisation serves its audiences, stakeholders and communities, promoting equitable environmental and inclusive change. Your leadership will help to embed the necessary changes for our institution to become anti-racist. An interest in and commitment to Leeds and West Yorkshire is essential.
Do you have these leadership attributes, skills and governance experience? We want to hear from you.
To submit your interest or if you would like an informal confidential conversation, please contact our advising consultant Baljit Dhadda at Baljit@bdsearchconsultancy.co.uk
You will be asked to submit a CV and Supporting Statement that outlines your motivation and interest in the role as well as your skills, experience and demonstrable values that align with this role. We will also request that you complete a diversity monitoring form, and a ‘Conflicts of Interest Form’. Data from your diversity monitoring form will not be shared with the recruitment panel.
