Role Purpose:

To support the Channel Marketing Manager - Retail in developing and translating marketing communication strategies into integrated retail marketing plans that can be executed through the Retail Channel at outlet level.  To identify, develop and convert opportunities to increase awareness and in-store presentation of our brands for consumers (scope includes understanding shopper marketing, point of sale impact and permanent point of sale requirements).

This is a permanent role. We offer hybrid working with an expectation that the successful candidate will attend our Watford HQ twice a week and occasional visits to our London office.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Represent the needs of the retail outlets into the category teams and develop activation plans to be executed at outlet level in Retail.
  • Increase our brand presence in retail outlets for all categories and at all points of purchase (PPOS and POS) by working closely with the Channel Marketing Manager -  Retail, the National Account Team, Retail Sales Team and Retail Operations Team to identify and convert key opportunities.
  • Recommend marketing investment priorities for the Retail sector in line with category & retail strategy, generating and filtering ideas with business cases to justify recommendations
  • Work with the Category teams to understand our consumers, category and brand strategy, marketing communications plans and monthly objectives.
  • Develop strategies, plan, tactics and cost business and marketing activities to be executed through the retail channel (at outlet level) and update and manage allocated budgets.
  • Understand the UK Retail market, key trends, shopper behaviour, opportunities and constraints and input into strategy for the retail channel.
  • Input into the setting of monthly priorities for the Sales Team and brief retail-facing teams on key requirements.
  • Deliver support, within budget, for New Game launches in the Retail Channel; core kit for all stores and up-weighted kit, where appropriate, for key sectors / accounts.
  • Tailor brand advertising, PPOS, POS and communication materials where appropriate to maximise support from Retailers, where there is a proven ROI.
  • Ensure relevant marketing materials and POS is produced and sent to the right outlets in line with agreed timescales.
  • Measure the effectiveness of in-store initiatives.
  • Input into MME budget process and ensure retail channel activities are delivered within agreed budgets.

Skills and Experience:
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering marketing activation plans – preferably in retail.
  • Proven consumer insight based marketing planning.
  • Ability to build cross functional relationships, manage and influence multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Attention to detail in managing marketing production and distribution.
  • Proven experience of budget tracking.
  • Knowledge of the retail marketplace.

As part of our onboarding processes, all successful candidates will need to complete both a Pre-Employment Screening process and a Fit & Proper check by the Gambling Commission. These checks include a DBS (an enhanced check, which shows convictions and conditional cautions), credit and social media checks. As part of our application process, you will be asked to identify in advance if you have spent or unspent convictions that we need to be aware of.

Should you not disclose convictions at the application stage, not pass the Fit & Proper Check process or not complete your Pre-Employment Screening then unfortunately you may not pass our probation process.
