What you will bedoing

As a ChargeNurse, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering high qualitynursing care working a combination of day and night shifts,ensuring seamless operations and exceptional service for ourservice users. Collaborating with our dedicated team, your rolewill cover evaluating and refining care plans to ensure they meetevolving needs, as well as overseeing and auditing medications.

As a seniormember of our team, you’ll play a pivotal role in mentoring andguiding junior colleagues. This includes providing support throughonline training, monitoring observation levels, assessing workquality and enhancing team effectiveness.

 Your responsibilities as a Charge Nursewill also include:

Ensuring the is adequate staffing tomaintain the safety of the hospital

Discussing improvement ideas withappropriate people and agrees on a prioritised plan ofimplementation to take forward agreedimprovements

Ensuring all employees managed have annualappraisals and personal development plans in place, facilitatesupervision and comply with mandatorytraining

Identifying and managing risk atwork 

Monitoring the performance and conduct ofstaff and take corrective action whennecessary

Promoting and safeguarding the wellbeingand interests of all service users andemployees 

Monitoring incidents and requireddocumentation

Adhering to Welsh Safeguardingprocedures

Ensuring safer staffing asrequired

Conducting Audits asrequired

As a Charge Nurse you willneed: 

Relevant experience asRMN/RNMH/RNLD 

First level nurse with evidence ofprofessional development, relevant skills andknowledge

Awareness of the wider Healthcare economyand political environment

Relevant Clinical Experience in a similarenvironment

Proven track record of leadershipskills
