Charity Development Officer – Football Charity
Part Time – 3 days per week, work pattern is negotiable
Salary - £30,000 - 33,000 pro rata
LIFE FIT is a well-established charity start-up which has been put together by very experienced individuals, alongside the full support of a key stakeholder in the industry.
LIFE FIT was established to provide structure, guidance, and act in an advisory role for both current Footballers players and ex- players in areas such as wellbeing, education, equality, and all matters “off the pitch”. We support them to be “life fit”, through developing and delivering a range of projects which in turn provide support so they can contribute as much as possible to society in areas off the pitch.
Due to expansion, we are now looking for a Charity Development Officer, who can drive and manage a range of projects and support the growth of the charity.
Work Location
- Can be in office, work from home or blended.
- Initially working at the office at PFA Scotland to build relationships with the team and benefiting from their network throughout Scottish Football, while also working remotely.
Responsibilities
Your activities will include:
- Identify and build strategic partnerships for the charity to enable growth
- carry out marketing and public relations activities to raise the profile of the organisation's services and campaigns
- Implement new projects and systems that improve the services offered and support the organisation's goals.
- design fundraising materials such as leaflets and flyers
- create and organise fundraising initiatives and events
- approach potential donors and maintain donor lists
- liaise with external agencies, including voluntary sector organisations, the media, local authorities, business contacts, trustees and other stakeholders or clients
- carry out administrative tasks such as applying for grants and other sources of funding, managing budgets, gathering data, preparing reports, database management and clerical work to meet the charity's needs.
The Person
LIFE FIT is seeking a confident forward-thinking individual who can help LIFE FIT get to the next stage in its development as an established and respected charity within the football industry.
You will be working with multiple stakeholders such as footballers, football clubs and PFA Scotland therefore you should have excellent communication and presentation skills.
The role focuses on developing and overseeing the smooth running of projects and processes for players and ex-players so being organised is key.
You will also be expected to have a knowledge of charity funding and finance.

Essential
- Experience of working at a charity or other non-profit organisation
- Excellent communication and administration skills
- Ability to work calmly in a busy working environment with competing demands on your time
- Experience of organising fundraising events
- Experience of running appeals and developing fundraising materials
- Experience of building strong and effective relationships with existing donors and potential supporters
- Ability to write persuasive content to encourage support
- High standard of computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, databases)
- Understanding of fundraising from trusts and foundations
