Our client is a non-profit organisation working with people to support their health and wellbeing. Established for over 30 years, they have provided services alongside a variety of statutory and voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) colleagues in Surrey and its boarders. They are currently looking for a Women's Support Centre Checkpoint Navigator to provide a Trauma-informed, victim lead and restorative approach to working with women as part of a Checkpoint Intervention.
Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 dependent on experience
Hours: Full Time, 35 hours per week Monday to Friday
Duration: 1 year FTC

Location - Woking and Guildford Police Station
You will be working within a Women's Support Centre which has supported women from across Surrey, from all backgrounds supporting them on their journey within the Criminal Justice System.
The Women's Support Centre is working with Surrey Police who have launched an exciting scheme called Checkpoint, to deliver targeted interventions to help offenders from re offending. You will be a trained Women's Support Centre Checkpoint Navigator (caseworker and training is provided) responsible for working through targeted interventions with adult, female offenders as part an agreement leading to an out of court disposals.
Their vision and your role are to continue to support women dealing with abuse, discrimination, trauma, homelessness, financial difficulties, and those navigating the criminal justice system via trauma informed, client led approach. As part of this role, you will:
* Meet offenders and carry out a needs assessments for adults to identify the reasons for offending
* Work with offenders with complex needs and be able to identify those complex needs such as addiction, abuse and mental health
* Case manage adults subject of a Checkpoint following Restorative Justice principles, such as victim/offender conferences, mediation and reparation activity
* Be able to identify and monitor matters of a safeguarding nature vulnerable adults and make appropriate referrals as necessary
* To establish and maintain good working relationships with appropriate local partners
Within this role you will provide a high standard of trauma-responsive advocacy and support to women in contact with, or at risk of being in contact with the criminal justice system.

* Experience of working with women with multiple and complex needs
* Up to date understanding of safeguarding practice, policy and procedures Personal resilience and the ability to stay focused in a rapidly changing environment.
* Knowledge of the impact that contact with the criminal justice system may have on women
* Personal resilience and the ability to stay focused in a rapidly changing environment
* An understanding of the principles of restorative justice
* A commitment to ongoing professional development in, and to be a champion of, restorative practice
* An ability to interact positively and sensitively with adults from hard-to-reach vulnerable groups
* Good inter-personal skills and the ability to work and relate well with others at all levels, in a team and with partners
* A high level of self-motivation, the ability to set priorities and manage time effectively, working with the minimum of supervision.
