Overview:

Join our team as a research and development Chemical Engineer, where you'll be at the forefront of sustainable material processing. This role is ideal for someone with a background in chemical or mechanical engineering, with experience in thermal conversion processes used for waste valorisation. You will be instrumental in developing technologies that leverage waste valorisation to revolutionise the production of low-carbon building materials.


Key Responsibilities:

  • ⁠Lead and conduct advanced research projects, focusing on sustainable, innovative material transformation and thermal conversion processes.
  • Engage in the development and optimisation of processes, with a focus on thermal conversion processes.
  • Establish a foundationary knowledge base of existing state of art processes.
  • Help build complex computational models using process simulation software.
  • Be hands-on and prepared to prototype and lab-scale systems.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and refine innovative technologies for material conversion.
  • Interpret complex data, prepare detailed reports, and communicate results to scientific and non-scientific audiences.
  • Maintain awareness of the latest scientific discoveries, applying this knowledge to advance our research objectives.
  • ⁠Liaise with product development teams to translate research into practical, scalable solutions.
  • Pursue related research avenues to broaden our environmental impact reduction strategies in industrial settings.


Qualifications:

  • ⁠Ph.D/Masters in Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field, with a focus on sustainable materials and waste valorisation.
  • Solid background in both academic and industry settings, with a proven track record in relevant research and development.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with a creative and innovative approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, demonstrated through successful collaborative projects.
  • ⁠Capable of managing multiple priorities and adhering to deadlines.
  • ⁠Strong publication record in areas relevant to sustainable material processing and waste valorisation.
