Position Overview:
We are actively seeking a skilled Chemical Engineer or professional with a related degree who possesses strong experience in modelling, using tools like COMSOL, MATLAB, and Python, as well as proficiency in Python's data science libraries. Familiarity with CAD software and a deep understanding of thermodynamics and kinetics are essential for this role. This individual will bridge the gap between theoretical models and practical applications, ensuring our processes are optimized and innovative.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop, validate, and optimise computational models using COMSOL, MATLAB, and Python.
2. Analyse experimental and operational data using Python's data science libraries, extracting insights and recommendations for process improvements.
3. Design and implement simulations to predict system behaviours under various conditions.
4. Collaborate with the R&D and Production teams to integrate modelling insights into tangible process enhancements.
5. Utilise CAD software to design and modify equipment and system layouts.
6. Provide expertise in the areas of thermodynamics and kinetics, guiding project direction and decision-making.
7. Mentor junior engineers and technicians, promoting a culture of knowledge-sharing and continuous learning.
8. Stay updated with the latest advancements in modelling techniques, Data Analysis tools, and relevant Chemical Engineering topics.
9. Contribute to technical documentation, reports, and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field. Master’s or PhD is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in modelling using COMSOL, MATLAB, and Python.
3. Proficient in Python data science libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and SciPy.
4. Hands-on experience with CAD software such as Onshape or Solidworks.
5. Comprehensive knowledge in Thermodynamics and Kinetics.
6. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
7. Effective communication and team collaboration abilities.
