Chief Executive Officer, National Dairy Council

The National Dairy Council (NDC) is a farmer-funded representative body that works to promote and protect Ireland's internationally renowned dairy reputation for excellent dairy products, sustainably produced. It is a not-for-profit organisation, advocating on behalf of dairy farmers' social licence to produce nutritious products from Ireland's grass-based, family farmed model. The NDC also has the role of celebrating and endorsing consumption of locally produced and processed dairy products.

The NDC is now seeking to appoint a new Chief Executive to lead the organisation in its mission and to drive the strategic direction for the future. Reporting to the Chairperson, the role will be to devise, agree and implement all business strategies and initiatives with full budget and performance management responsibility for the organisation. Central to this role will be the need to communicate with all key stakeholders across the dairy industry including farming organisations, dairy processors, consumers, retailers, media and other relevant dairy bodies.

This is a challenging position suitable for a senior business/ marketing executive with excellent consumer insight and strong management ability. With the capacity to work on your own initiative, you must be able to lead and motivate the organisation and its members in devising and implementing innovative strategies to achieve excellent results. Strong communication and personal presentation skills are essential as is the need for high levels of drive and energy and excellent interpersonal skills. Experience within the food or agribusiness sector, while not essential, is desirable.
