Job Description
This co-founder role will start by shaping, with the Chairman, the CEO and advisors, the Faster Climate Impact vision and business plan. FCI is the Ecosystem Builder for the Climate Emergency and seeks to use the power of aggregation, co-ordination and orchestration to help speed up time-to-value and time-to-impact for key climate technologies and mitigation approaches. We will work to develop optimal governance approaches across the ecosystems we build. We will also seek to speed up time-to-impact for the ecosystems we build by engaging with policymakers.
You will bring 10+ years professional experience in sustainability-related roles, through which you have earned serious credibility as a thinker, communicator and doer, and a desire to work through a systems thinking perspective to shape positive outcomes for humanity. You will be committed to a shared responsibility for developing a high-performing leadership team.
Responsibilities
As above, the initial responsibility will be to co-develop the vision, business plan and org structure for FCI. Through that process we will co-design the role of Chief Sustainability Officer to take advantage of your strengths, and to consider what other resources we need to draw on and systems we need to build to supplement those, likely under your leadership. Your should bring knowledge and experience of working with at least three of the following areas: technology, innovation, science, finance, policy and governance.
The leadership team will need to be able to meet and work in person, usually in Cambridge, England, for at least one day a week for the first two-three years of the project. You will share responsibility with the leadership team for developing a positive, inclusive organisational culture.
