Westminster City Council is looking for a Child Protection Advocate to join their Quality Assurance Service.

This is a Locum Social Work role.

To provide a comprehensive children's advocacy service that promotes and upholds the rights of children and young people subject to ‘Child Protection Plans' in Westminster City Council.

Your responsibilities as a Child Protection Advocate:

• To provide an advocacy service that is appropriate to the age and maturity of the child/young person with the view to empower them and promote their participation and rights.
  

• To support children and young people, aged 7 years and over, who are subject to Child Protection Conferences, to prepare for and participate in their Conference either directly or indirectly.
  

• To ensure that each child or young person fully understands the process of the Child Protection Conference and the range of participation options available to them.
  

• In discussion and agreement with the Child Protection Chair, provide the child/young person with a ‘child friendly' version of the Child Protection Plan.
  

• To give advice and consultation to staff, carers and independent visitors, in order to increase knowledge of children's rights, participation and advocacy issues within the Local Authority.
  

Requirements of you as a CP Advocate:

• A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)


• A valid Social Work England registration


• Have competent knowledge and experience of Child Protection, Frontline and QA work


• A valid UK driving licence and car is prefered to this role

Location: Westminster, London

Umbrella pay rate: £36.00p/hper hour
