Child Support Worker

Child Support worker roles available in Burntisland within the residential home of a specialist school campus. The home and school support young people of primary and high school ages with emotional difficulties and complex vulnerabilities engage in education. You will play a key role in helping children develop their social and life skills too. The home has consistently received 5s and 6s from the care inspectorate over the past 10 years and has a great reputation in the local community. You will be joining a team from diverse care backgrounds working cooperatively to achieve the best outcomes for the children in their care.

Salary is up to £29,000 depending on experience with additional sleepover allowances and overtime paid at time and a half,

A successful Child Support Worker will be responsible for:

- Working effectively as part of a team of Child Support Workers
- Providing 24 hours care to a vulnerable young people
- Create a warm and nurturing environment for every child
- Encourage participation in classroom learning as well as alternative learning opportunities
- Maintaining professional manner and working to National Care Standards
- Act as a positive parenting role model

To be successful in your application, you will:
- Have previous experience working in a residential setting with young people
- Be skilled in building therapeutic relationships in line with the organisation's core values
- Have knowledge of attachment theory and how this relates to trauma and children in care
- Register under the PVG scheme
- Full driving licence
- Obtained, or working towards SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent desirable
