Child Therapy Assistant / Support Worker (Ref: OP1)
Location: Ystradgynlais
Hours per week: 17.5 hours
Working Pattern:
Term times: 3.00pm 6.30pm School holidays: hours will vary and will be arranged in advance with the family. Pay:
Weekday (7 am to 11 pm) = GBP14.60 Occasional Weekends/Bank Holidays (7 am to 11 pm) = GBP14.60 Closing date: 29th January 2024
I am a 12-year-old boy and I sustained an injury as a baby, as a result I have complex needs, including cognitive and physical. I have type 1 diabetes but can manage my condition with support. I am sociable, friendly and have a great sense of humour. In the main I require additional support out of school to support my learning and to assist me to enjoy social and leisure activities, engage in therapy, and further develop my life skills. I love being active and busy, enjoying a variety of sports as well as computer games. I attend school in Swansea, where you will meet me to travel home.
During the school holidays your hours are likely to be increased to provide extra support and to accompany me on day trips to places further afield.
My new Child Therapy Assistant / Support Worker will be enthusiastic, fun, reliable and flexible, calm, patient under pressure and able to apply a consistent approach.
This role would be an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team, which will include supporting me with my education and therapy programme.
This role is subject to an Enhanced level DBS check and full induction and training will be provided.
