We are looking for a highly motivated Children’s Occupational Therapist to join our friendly and supportive Children and Families Occupational Therapy Service. Working alongside Grant Officers and Social Workers across the South or North of Hampshire you will hold a caseload of children who experience varying degrees of physical and/or learning disabilities and autism. You will work with them and their family to identify their needs and then meet their needs through minor and major adaptations and equipment provision.
As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to have regular supervision with an experienced Occupational Therapist Manager, as well as further in house and external training and Continual Professional Development opportunities. Should you be considering returning to working as an Occupational Therapist we would support you to re-register.
Professionally qualified and registered with HCPC, you will have sound knowledge and experience of working within paediatric and/or adults’ social care, community or hospital-based services. You will have the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, being able to communicate effectively with team colleagues, local Borough and District councils and other professionals.
You will carry out Occupational Therapy Assessments recommending appropriate adaptations and then working together with Borough, District and City Councils to meet the needs of the child. Along with completing risk assessments and moving and handling assessments you will work with the Occupational Therapy Assistants in the team to ensure the necessary equipment is provided.
Based in Eastleigh, Basingstoke, Alton or Havant, you will also have the opportunity to work flexibly from home, you will be provided with a laptop. You will be required to travel to various locations within Hampshire, and it is essential that you have a current drivers’ licence and access to a reliable vehicle on a regular basis. Flexibility is also offered regarding how you work yours hours each week.
