Are you a Deputy Manager of a Children’s Home and looking for a new role?!

Reed are working with a family run provider of residential care for children with SEMH who are looking for a compassionate Residential Deputy Home Manager to join their team in the NN6 area of Northampton.

The role involves working closely with the Senior Management Team and Registered Manager to manage all aspects of the Children’s Home, ensuring exceptional levels of care and compliance with regulatory frameworks.

The Deputy Home Manager will support the development and implementation of care plans for young people with emotional and behavioural needs and oversee the operations of the home in the absence of the Registered Manager.

  • £28,080 per annum
  • 0800-2300 plus sleep-in, 1 day on, 2 day off

Day to Day of the role:

  • Ensure compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations (2015) and Quality Standards.
  • Establish and monitor high-quality standards of care and develop quality assurance measures.
  • Lead in setting standards, evaluating achievements, and reviewing care plans for young people.
  • Act as the safeguarding lead, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Manage the home environment in line with Health and Safety requirements.
  • Provide effective leadership, support the Registered Manager, and promote team development.
  • Oversee the provision of professional supervision for staff with the Registered Manager.
  • Manage all physical, financial, and human resources effectively.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ residential experience within the children’s home sector.
  • Minimum of two years’ management experience in the children’s home sector.
  • Commitment to completing NVQ Level 5 Leadership and Management
  • Experience in applying policies and procedures relating to the care of young people.
  • Experience of current Ofsted Inspection Framework and inter-agency working.
  • Sound knowledge of governing legislation, procedures, and best practice in caring for children.
