• Salary: Competitive Rates of Pay between £12.00 and £15.00 per hour (dependant on shift and client)
• Locations: North East of England (you can specify your working area)
• Shift Pattern: Part Time, Full Time, Flexible/Bank, Long Term Assignments Available
• Contract Type: PAYE Temp Worker

We are looking for a dedicated Children Support Workers to join our Children’s Care team within the Reed Health and Care North East Team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care and support, meeting the diverse needs of children and families. This role may involve working with children with challenging behaviour, complex emotional problems, and additional/special needs. Flexibility to work in a range of different services managed by our clients.

Day to Day of the role:

• Provide care and support that meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, behavioural, health, social, and cultural needs of children and families.
• Work in various settings, including the home, community, and children’s own homes.
• Follow Care Plans, safeguarding plans, health plans, and behavioural plans.
• Support children in attending educational, religious, social, and cultural activities.
• Supervise contact between children, young people, and their families as directed.
• Administer medication post-training, which may include emergency medication.
• Attend meetings related to the care of children, including review and planning meetings.
• Complete appropriate recording and documentation, including computer database entries.
• Participate in training, supervision, appraisal, team meetings, and development days.
• Work within the agreed working rota per your availability, including weekends, bank holidays, and potentially night shifts.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• NVQ level 3 in working with children and young people, or equivalent qualification.
• Understanding of the needs of children, including those with special needs and emotional difficulties.
• Proficient in IT systems.
• Knowledge of child development and managing challenging behaviour.
• Experience working with children, young people, and families in a relevant setting.
• Experience collaborating with people from other agencies and providing direct care/support.
• Ability to engage with individuals of all ages and abilities.
• Flexibility to meet the needs of clients placed with
• A valid driving license and access to a car is desirable.

The successful candidate must have full eligibility to work in the UK and will be subject to enhanced DBS checks and references. You must have a smart phone to be able to submit weekly timesheets to Reed for payroll to be processed.
