One of our local authority clients are currently recruiting for a Children's Centre Business Support/Receptionist. This is a temporary contract for 2 months with possible further extension based on budget and performance.
Main Purpose of Post/Job Summary
The Tresham Centre for Disabled Children provides a wide range of Services and Short Breaks to Disabled Children and their families. The Main centre is open 7 days a week. This role reports to the Bi-Borough Operations Manager and liaises with the Team Leaders who run and oversee the day-to-day delivery at the centre. To manage, develop and coordinate the centre’s administrative tasks and provide advice, information and support parents and carers of children with disabilities. To also provide support for the Centre Team Leaders.
To oversee the Centre budget and process financial data. To develop and manage new data monitoring systems to inform effective delivery of the service, providing a range of administrative, communication, data and finance support to colleagues and to the service users. To recruit and supervise sessional workers and process new starters on IBC personnel system.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the day to day running of the centre.
- Lead and manage a team of play workers who deliver services and who will support your role in ensuring the buildings, policies and procedures are accurate and complete for Disabled children and their families.
- To manage calendar bookings and the facilities, support with team meetings and support with activities which can be at either of the centres (across the Bi-Borough) offsite on activities, with other partners.
- To oversee all Health and Safety issues relating to the daily running of the buildings
- To ensure the Building and Service are supported in all areas of Data/Bookings/Reception cover
- St Quintin Centre is the main Service provider of Short Breaks in Kensington and Chelsea and is Part of the Bi- Borough Short break provision so you may need to provide support in any of the service areas in Short Breaks
- Ensure all Regulations regarding Ofsted are adhered to at all times updating the facilities folders/building manuals to always be inspection ready.
- To take on all tasks in relation to the day to day running of the centres.
- Fund raising for the Short Breaks service including bid writing.
- Creating Presentations using PowerPoint, spreadsheets and Word.
- The supervision and management of up to 10 part-time play workers who will support in the office/ administrative duties (including appraisals & professional development, sickness monitoring, performance management, leave approval).
- Answering the phones and directing the call to relevant colleague.
