Form of workProspero Health and Social Care are looking for Residential Support Worker's across Wigan to join our team on a temporary basis to provide support to children and young people, ages 10-17 years, who have complex needs, challenging and emotional behaviours. As a Residential Support Worker, you will focus on building trusting relationships and providing stability for the young people. You will be working in a residential service which provides homes for these young people, not just places to live.
The Residential Support Worker role will involve:
- Encouraging daily routines and independence
- Helping with a balanced healthy diet and exercise
- Helping find interests and take them on activities
- Promoting education
- Positive impact on YP and helping them build positive relationships
- Day-to-day cleaning, laundry and washing, providing nutritious meals
Prospero are looking for Support Workers who are:
- Passionate about helping and working with young people
- Comfortable dealing with or learning to deal with challenging behaviour in a number of different ways and techniques
- Able to demonstrate de-escalation techniques
- Emotionally resilient
- Confident with being able to write reports and paper work
What we need to register you:
- 6-12 months relevant experience within this role or similar
- A full child and adult DBS on the update service, or willing to obtain one.
- A full UK driver's license is preferred, but not essential.
- Must be able to effectively communicate and build relationships with young people
