This role offers an attractive salary of £37.60 per hour and provides an opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of vulnerable children and families.

Position Overview: As a Social Worker in our Court Team, you will play a crucial role in advocating for the best interests of children and families involved in court proceedings. You will work closely with legal professionals, families, and other stakeholders to assess needs, provide support, and ensure that children's voices are heard in court. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a challenging but fulfilling environment, contributing to positive outcomes for children and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with children, families, and relevant professionals to develop and implement support plans that address identified needs and promote positive outcomes.
  • Advocate for children's rights and ensure that their voices are heard throughout the court process, facilitating their participation and involvement in decision-making.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports, documentation, and court statements in accordance with statutory requirements and organizational standards.
  • Liaise with external agencies and partner organizations to coordinate services and access resources to meet the needs of children and families effectively.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, documentation, and electronic records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and data protection requirements.
  • Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and training sessions to enhance professional development and share knowledge and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant professional registration (e.g., HCPC).
  • Proven experience working with children and families within a social services or child welfare setting, with specific experience in court-related work.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to gather, analyze, and interpret information to inform decision-making and intervention planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trusting relationships with children, families, legal professionals, and colleagues.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection, safeguarding, and court proceedings.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating resilience, empathy, and professionalism in challenging situations.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic and demanding environment.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Bedford area as required.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary of £37.60 per hour, paid on a weekly basis.
  • Supportive team environment with opportunities for professional development and advancement.
  • Flexible working arrangements and the opportunity to work remotely where possible.
  • Meaningful and rewarding work that makes a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families involved in court proceedings.
