Children's Support Worker

Hays are proud to be working with a reputable organisation to source experienced children\'s Support Workers. This organisation currently has two services in the Ipswich area. The first home based in Felixstowe will provide accommodation for up to 2 children of any gender, aged 6 up to 12, who have emotional and/or behavioural difficulties. With the second service based in East Ipswich providing care for children and young people aged 10 and over who have emotional and behavioural issues.
Both services primary objective is to provide the children with a safe, stable, happy, and comfortable home which will enable them to build upon their confidence, self-esteem during their time at the home. For the East Ipswich service, children and young people can remain living in the home until they are 18 years old, and for the Felixstowe service children and young people live in the home for a period of six months to enable them to receive intensive support before moving on to a different placement or a foster placement.
The shifts are 12 hours long but there would be the opportunity to make this a 24-hour shift on occasion - the nights are split between the two workers on shift with one sleeping the first half of the night and one sleeping the second half. If you do not like to work nights, this is OK.
To be considered for this role you must be living in the UK, have a minimum of 6 months working social care experience within the UK and hold a right to work with no restrictions.
