Job description

Are you an experienced Support Worker with a passion for assisting children or young people in crisis?

Are you dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of the most vulnerable members of our community?

If so, we want to hear from you!

We are actively seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our specialised teams. In this role, you will provide high-level support, create safe environments, and demonstrate a deep understanding of how past trauma can influence current behaviours and communication.

As a member of our specialist teams, you can expect a range of benefits, including elevated pay rates surpassing local standards, support from a close-knit team, various payment options, and opportunities for skill development and advancement.

What does joining a specialist team entail? You'll have the chance to utilise your expertise and skills to support children and young people in crisis. Essential responsibilities include engaging and encouraging participation in activities, maintaining accurate records, and prioritising the safety and well-being of those under your care. Additionally, you must be a licensed driver with business insurance.

In the role of a Support Worker in children's homes, you will work directly with young individuals in a residential setting. This requires confidence in managing heightened behaviours, employing de-escalation techniques, and making informed decisions during challenging situations. Strong communication skills, creativity in building trust, and a firm understanding of professional boundaries are also crucial.

We are seeking individuals who can commit to providing consistent support, maintain availability as needed, and take the time to understand each child or young person's unique circumstances. Successful candidates will possess traits such as calmness under pressure, confidence in decision-making, empathy towards trauma-informed care, non-judgemental attitudes, resilience in stressful situations, and keen observational skills.

Ideal candidates will also a level 3 qualification in childcare, including a valid DBS check, registration with the relevant regulatory body, and preferably PMVA training or a willingness to undergo such training.

If you are passionate about making a difference and meet the qualifications outlined above, we encourage you to apply today. Join us in our mission to provide safety and support to those who need it most.

Rates of Pay: £14- £16 per hour daytime, £17-18 waking night.
