SalaryAstute’s Power team is partnering with a Combined Heat and Power facility in Cumbria. Comprised of three GE Frame 6B Gas Turbines and a single 68MW Steam Turbine, the plant provides power to the National Grid as well as steam to the nuclear facilities of Sellafield to recruit an C&I Technician on a 12 month FTC for its Fellside site.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Site Maintenance Engineer you will:
* Carrying out fault diagnosis, repairs, planned and unplanned maintenance activities on all C&I assets to maximise plant availability including pressure, level, temperature and flow sensors and control systems (DCS, PLCs) and electrical equipment (motors, switchgear, generators etc)
* Assisting during major maintenance periods, shutdowns, outages etc. when required to ensure maximum plant availability and efficiency
* Working alongside other technicians in the maintenance team in diagnosing faults and assisting/suggesting equipment upgrades
* Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the site CMMS
* Supervising and directing on site contractors when required
* Provide out of hours cover on a 1 week in 3 on call rota
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* A recognised C&I engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3 / HNC or equivalent
* Knowledge and understanding of maintenance on controls and instrumentation equipment
* At least 4 years of experience working in the maintenance team in a heavy process environment such as a power station, refinery, chemical plant etc.
