We recognise that some students require specialised assistance, and we are seeking a dedicated individual to provide expert support and guidance to our students, specifically for those who are care-leavers, estranged, young adult carers, asylum seekers, refugees, mature students, under-18s, or those joining the University through widening access pathways. Responsibilities The City Cares Adviser will oversee student casework and coordination for supporting for care-leavers & experienced, estranged, carers, mature, asylum seekers, refugees, under-18s or those joining the University via a widening access pathway. They will also have responsibility for enhancing the student experience and working closely with other areas of the University to provide high-quality support to students and collaborating with external partners to ensure students receive the support they need to succeed. In addition they will provide training and support to staff on issues related to care-experienced, estranged, carers, mature students, asylum seekers, refugees, under-18s . Person Specification The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for supporting students from diverse backgrounds and have strong interpersonal and communication skills. They will have the ability to work collaboratively and build effective relationships with students, staff and external partners. Experience in providing support to students in a higher education environment would be desirable but not essential.
