Job Description

Ward & Burke are currently recruiting Civil Design Engineers and Site Engineers for projects in the greater Manchester and Northwest UK areas. This position will include (but is not limited to) the following responsibilities:

  • Producing and reviewing civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering calculations, specifications, drawings and reports for temporary works and permanent works.
  • Setting out and surveying.
  • Supervise and deliver projects to programme, monitor and report progress, and ensure safe working practises are followed.
  • Communicating and collaborating with site team to ensure all are aware of arrangements and plans fit with programmed works.
  • Assisting with ordering materials.
  • Referring to technical guidance such as United Utilities engineering specifications/design guidance documents, CESWI and other relevant design standards to ensure design and installation compliance.
  • Management of subcontractors and suppliers both on site and administratively.
  • Involvement within project from tender stage and design acceptance through to handover.


What we’re looking for

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Recently graduated in relevant engineering discipline or have up to 5 years’ experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong team player skills and be able to work at own initiative.
  • Good computer skills and experience with relevant software packages.
