Civil Enforcement Officer

We are looking for a Civil Enforcement Officer based in Bideford. You will be providing frontline inspection and enforcement functions covering off street (parking) operations.

Must have the ability and willingness to work on a shift system covering weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

Duties will include:

• Patrol off street parking areas. Enforce parking by serving Penalty Charge Notices where vehicles are parked in contravention of the relevant restrictions.
• Inspect pay and display machines and other associated equipment to ensure they are working, reporting any defects that cannot be rectified.
• Inspect and report all parking area defects including defective traffic signs and road markings.
• Keep detailed daily records of all activities carried out using pocket and electronic notebooks.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

• Considerable exeperience of working with the general public on situations of possible conflict or similar background.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Lone working with personal responsibility for completing work.
• Full UK driving license
