WHAT TO EXPECT
Working as part of Powertrain, the Propulsion Control System Test Manager will be responsible for delivering cutting edge testing methodology across the whole Propulsion system, working closely with the Control System software architects to develop, optimise and test the Control System software.
Development of World class leading Virtual (MiL / SiL / HiL) and Physical test rigs (PiL / ViL) along with Driver in the loop simulation will enable JLR to develop world class propulsion systems.
The role will also be responsible for designing world-class cutting-edge test methods for deployment across all of the testfields, working closely with the Propulsion system owners, software developers and attribute calibration teams driving technical excellence into the design of the testing methodology and test use cases.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
• Develop a business aligned vision for technical delivery of the attribute or technology.
• Technical leadership to drive function, quality, cost or timing improvements on programmes.
• Lead role for developing new technologies and new applications of current technologies.
• Thorough understanding of both internal and external customer attribute and technology requirements.
• Development of process and reports to ensure consistent and robust delivery of their technology or attribute.
• Support task force activities to solve complex engineering problems.
• Formal sign off of the technical elements of their system or attribute.
• Charged with promoting systems engineering into the company.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• Excellent team leadership capabilities are essential. It will be a requirement to organise and drive cross-functional teams to deliver Design Verification activities on time, to meet deliverables to the required quality of event.
• Experience of project planning and delivery.
• Excellent knowledge of whole vehicle automotive product design, requirements, attributes, and verification.
• Detailed knowledge of Programme Delivery Processes
• Experience of using PTTB test properties (ViL and PiL)
• Experience of DVM design across the whole propulsion system
• Experience of using automation tools across virtual and physical test environments
• Experience in delivering Powertrain systems to production
