Class 2 HGV Driver/Valeter
c£33,500.00 Per Annum (weekly pay)
Standard hours 7:00 am - 5:00 pm Mon to Fri + 30 mins unpaid break (these will vary and some earlier starts and earlier finishes will apply for long distance drop-offs/collections)
Hours worked above 40 are paid at time & a half: £18.00 p/h & hours worked before 07:00 are at double time: £24.00 p/h
Please not you will be asked to work the occasional Saturday morning through the year usually 8 am to 12 pm on a rota basis (Time and a Half Pay Rate)

Who would suit this position?
- Someone with a Class 2 License and a full CPC (New Passes welcome!)
- Someone who enjoys a working week with variety (not just being sat down all day, every day!)
- Someone with excellent communication skills whom is happy to build relationships with customers
- Someone who takes pride in the presentation of their vehicle and is physically fit, able and willing to valet the trucks prior to then being delivered/collected (30% of your working week will be performing these duties, the rest will be driving both smaller local runs as well as more long-distance, nationwide)
Duties include:
- Delivering HGVs and Cranes; driving to customers’ depots/businesses or home addresses (you will be followed through by someone in a car to return you to the depot or catch a train if the location is more city-central or in London for example. No trade plating involved!
- The role therefore requires someone who is in good health and is physically able to climb in and out of the trucks/vans with ease
- Keeping the yard clean and tidy adhering to H&S legislation
- Presenting the vehicles to a high standard when positioning them in the forecourt
- Carrying out final vehicle checks inside and out prior to delivery or collection
CLASS 2 License Holders - hourly rates breakdown per week:
ü 39 hours x 12.00 = £468.00 x 52 weeks = £24,336.00
ü 1 hour x £24.00 x 52 weeks = £1,248.00
ü 7.5 hours x £18.00 = £135.00 x 52 weeks = £7,020.00
ü + 13 weeks x £72.00 (4 hours every fourth Saturday at time and a half) = £936.00 - NOT GUARANTEED OVERTIME
TOTAL Average Earnings Per Annum = c£33,540.00
