Salary: MPS/UPS (£157.66 - £200/day), dependent on experience

A specialist ASD school based in Newport, is seeking a qualified Class Teacher with QTS or PGCE to join their dedicated team. The school provide education for pupils aged 3-19 with a range of complex learning difficulties, including autism, physical and sensory impairments, and medical needs. The school is committed to offering a stimulating and nurturing environment where every pupil is valued and respected.
Day to day of the role:
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the individual needs and abilities of pupils.
- Collaborate with the senior leadership team, teaching assistants, and external agencies to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
- Assess and record pupil progress, adapting teaching methods to suit individual requirements.
- Contribute to the wider school community by participating in extracurricular activities, events, and training.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching children and young people with autism and associated learning difficulties.
- Positive and flexible attitude with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
- Willingness to learn and develop professional practice.
