Full Job Description

My Client is looking for a dedicated individual to manage a team of waste collectors and complete collections to a high standard.

If you're proactive, customer-oriented, and have experience of driving a 3.5-ton Luton van and removal duties, then I would love to speak to you!

Main duties and responsibilities to include:

- Lead and work with a team to complete waste collections, clearances, and perform removal duties

- Communicate effectively with customers

- Load and unload the vehicle, categorizing waste accordingly

- Organize waste to optimize costs and achieve targets

- Drive to various locations for waste collection or clearances

- Work cohesively as part of a team, supporting other teams when necessary

- Ensure the vans are clean, presentable and maintained to high standards

- Reporting issues with vans, booking into the garage

- Feedback to office staff any issues/change of route

- Leave personal phones within the van when completing work

- Management of timed breaks (use of phones/smoking)

Skills:

- The ability to make sound decisions

- Use their own initiative and support colleagues

- Ability to follow the run routes and complete in timely manner

- Understanding of the costs of tipping – ensuring cost effective decisions

- Excellent communication skills

- Punctual and reliable

Requirements:

- Hold a full driver's license with no endorsements and a minimum of 5 years driving experience.

- No insurance claims from driving in the past 5 years.

- Ideally reside within 10 miles of Loughborough.

- Experienced in driving a 3.5 Luton box van.

- Ability to take the van home if necessary.

- Must have a personal, up-to-date sat nav, safety boots, and gloves.

- Physical fitness is a must, as the job entails manual labor.

- Management of timed breaks

Work Schedule

- Typically, five shifts per week.

- Start times: 0600 to 0700, ending between 1530-1730.

- Saturdays are optional with shorter shifts (4-6 hours). Optional overtime available to catch up, tipping, van maintenance etc.

- £14.00-£15.00 per hour
