Job description

The Client Affairs Team is seeking to appoint a part-time Client Affairs Team Officer to undertake the day-to-day financial management of our Court of Protection Deputyship customers. 

Our friendly and established team ensures vulnerable customers have appropriate access to their money in order to enhance their life.

You will be the first point of contact with our customers to ensure that they have access to money for daily expenditure and that their bills are paid.  A regular task is to purchase items in order to improve the customer’s life, such as holidays, furniture, or even a simple bouquet of flowers.

You will have excellent time managements skills in order to manage daily tasks such as the allocation of income to customer accounts as well as payment schedules of differing frequency, and ad hoc customer requests.

This role is very fast paced but rewarding as it provides a chance to make an important difference in our customers’ lives.

We are looking for candidates who are:

Experienced financial administrators with a keen eye for detail.

Adept at using Microsoft Excel, accurate data input and reconciling financial accounts.

Organised workers with the flexibility to deal with changing priorities and a high volume of work.

Confident to deal with a variety of stakeholders including vulnerable clients.

Full training, support and IT equipment will be provided.  The ideal working pattern is Mon, Tues, Wed to ensure the full week is covered with the existing job-share partner.  There will be a mix of home and office working.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
