Client & Accounts Manager - The Role

This is an exciting role for a qualified accountant who would enjoy the benefits and flexibilities of working in a small, friendly and motivated team environment. This critical role is ideal for a proactive individual who brings expertise in accountancy, tax and client service delivery. This role requires managing a client portfolio, nurturing client relationships, leading a team and business development, as well as the direct delivery of accountancy and tax services to clients. The role offers significant opportunities for career progression, with the prospect of advancing to a senior role within the practice, potentially leading to a partnership opportunity.

As a Client & Accounts Manager your role will include:

• Service Delivery: As the main liaison for clients in your portfolio, you will coordinate the delivery of our full suite of services to clients, ensuring high standards are maintained.
• Client Relationship Management: Build and foster long-term client relationships, ensuring their varied needs are met with our service offerings. Engage with potential and current clients to understand their needs, formulate proposals, and explain the value and pricing of our services.
• Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a team, offering guidance, training, and support to team members to encourage their professional growth. Oversee the performance and well-being of the team, ensuring a healthy and productive work environment. 
• Workflow Planning and Quality Control: Plan and distribute jobs and tasks within the team to ensure premium service delivery. Review team output for precision and quality, upholding the firm's standards of excellence and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Hands-On Approach: As an active member of the team, you will also carry your own workload including preparation of accounts and tax returns as well as meeting with clients and responding to their queries.

The Successful Applicant

You will be a motivated and friendly accountant who values excellence with experience of working in a similar role. You should be comfortable engaging with clients of varying sizes and industries, demonstrating both tact and commercial acumen. 

Requirements for our Manager role include:

• Qualified accountant (ACA);
• A minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience in an accountancy practice;
• Demonstrable technical expertise in accountancy and UK tax with proven excellence in client service delivery and a high level of attention to detail.
• Strong record of client portfolio management with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships. 
• Proven success in leading and developing a team within an accountancy practice including, mentoring and fostering a professional environment conducive to high performance and continuous learning.
• Experience using Iris Accountancy Suite will be an advantage;
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• An enthusiasm for participating in the growth and development of the practice, with the willingness to contribute to business expansion activities.
