Client Portfolio Manager – Accountancy Practice – Hertfordshire

About the Opportunity:

Due to continued growth in the last 2 years our client is looking for a full-time SME Portfolio Manager to join their team.

About the Responsibilities:

Joining as Client Portfolio Manager you will be reporting into the Partners and responsible for:

  • Effectively controlling your own Client Portfolio including everything from staff planning, management of WIP and billing
  • Building and further developing client relationships with existing and new clients
  • Displaying a strong commercial awareness in fee development
  • Presenting for partner review, completing files to a high standard
  • Displaying pro-active awareness of current relevant legislation, compliance standards
  • Raising high quality business correspondence
  • Acting as the main point of contact for compliance queries from clients within portfolio
  • Quoting and estimating fees within your level of authority
  • Meeting clients to pitch and tender for new work and putting together associated documents
  • Business development – attending new client meetings and networking events
  • Effectively delegating work to, and mentoring, the team
  • Providing feedback to junior and senior team members about quality of work/performance
  • Managing the team including monitoring work in progress and work standards

About the Applicant:

As the successful applicant, you will be:

  • Confident, articulate and an effective communicator at all levels
  • Well-presented and professional
  • Patience in training colleagues
  • ACA/ACCA Fully Qualified with 3+ years post qualification experience
  • Up to date knowledge of corporate and personal taxes
  • Strong time management skills
  • Previous management experience
  • Commercial and proactive approach to client development
