About the role
In your role as Client Relationship Manager you will make a meaningful and valued contribution from the outset.

This role will provide a great opportunity to define, implement and deliver a structured programme of engagement with employers to promote the benefits of USS.

You will develop a strategic dialogue that will enhance our existing relationships and deepen our understanding of the needs and priorities of a wide and increasingly diverse range of employers across the HE sector.

You will also promote cross departmental co-ordination of employer engagement with colleagues in USSL and USSIM and drive resolution of any employer related issues.
What you will be doing
As a trusted part of the Pensions Engagement & Development you will be responsible for:
  • Devise a formal engagement strategy to enhance the relationship between USS and senior stakeholders at key employers
  • Work effectively with senior internal stakeholders across the business to agree scope/objectives of planned engagement with employers
  • Formalise internal roles and responsibilities and map out planned engagement with senior stakeholders
  • Deliver planned engagement with employers
  • Promote cross departmental co-ordination of employer engagement with colleagues in USSL and USSIM
  • Actively use feedback from surveys, employer contacts or other feedback channels to drive service, product and communication related improvements. Identify opportunities for development of new services and products that are relevant to employers’ needs
  • Champion the concerns and needs of employers by being “the voice” of the sector across the business, generating recommendations for business improvements, driving internal change on behalf of the employers, and ensuring senior stakeholders at USS are effectively briefed on developments within the sector
About you

To be successful in the role you will have:
  • Degree or similar level qualification, ideally within a business or marketing related background
  • Experience in the pensions, financial services or HE sectors (or related sectors with applicable skills)
  • Experience of account management, relationship development and retention strategies, client segmentation, and working with CRM tools
  • Must be a confident communicator
  • Deep understanding of members, employers and stakeholders needs
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills
  • Strong presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills
