Job Description:
Description of role and key responsibilities:
- Work closely with, and provide support to, the Treasury Risk Solutions and Equities businesses as part of a flexible and adaptable Operations team
- Liaise with the Settlements team to help address all payment and settlement issues and client queries, as matter of business priority. Ongoing communicate with client and TRS desk, providing updates and escalation, as appropriate
- Assist clients with use of the Investec IX online FX platform, and undertake validations checks as required
- Cross-training across various roles within the team is a key requirement
- Assist with client on-boarding (mainly Corporates & Equity), ensuring strict adherence to Investec's AML, KYC and other Compliance policies, as well as to team specific procedures
- Provide support for Client Money and Daily Reconciliations processes
- Proactively respond to client queries and requests in a professional manner with accuracy and attention to detail as key requirements
- Proactively manage team mailboxes to ensure that all matters are promptly addressed, assigned to a team member or archived as appropriate when complete
- Undertaking daily and ad hoc administration tasks as required including FX rate uploads, scanning, issuance of statements, interest certificates, and FX Confirmations, and responding to Auditor requests
- Deliver on initiatives and ad hoc projects as assigned by the Operations Manager
Competencies & Experience:
- A high calibre candidate with a minimum of 3 years broad-based operational experience in a financial services environment (preferably Treasury based or with payment experience)
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail / diligent and focused
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service orientation
- Enthusiastic and flexible individual to provide consistent, high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders
- A strong ability to prioritise workload and adhere to tight deadlines
- Proficient in use of MS Excel/Word and the wider MS product suite.
