About the role
It's an exciting time to join AXA Health, with significant investment planned in all UK&I businesses to transform, deliver new digital services to our customers, and streamline and automate our business processes. As part of this, we're looking for talented people to join the growing team.
As Clinical Informatics Specialist, you'll be an advocate on the capture and utilisation of clinical information. Reporting to Deputy Chief Medical Officer, you'll generate clinical insights from AXA Health's member population data. You'll provide best practice expertise on optimising clinical information used in AXA Health including health analytics, economic models and metrics for provider performance, coding and informatics.
At AXA we're adopting a Hybrid way of working, empowering our people to balance their time between home and our Tunbridge Wells in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You can expect to spend one day per week in the office, with the rest of your time working from home. Occasional meetings in our London office.

What you'll be doing:
Provide expertise in the creation of new rules that can drive our claims management and cost-containment initiatives. Extracting, monitoring, and enhancing our datasets to ensure we are making data led decisions suitable for our members.
Research and develop enhancements on AXA Health's approach to reimbursing healthcare providers. For example, adding new schedules or data points.
Update key stakeholders on internal control framework developments including unbundling, specialist mapping and rules management.
Conduct root cause analysis on all coding related matters and provide recommendations for implementation by operational teams.
Research and monitor the impact to our reimbursement models and proposed innovations, such as value-based healthcare.
Provide advice and guidance before choices are made on adding or removing a clinical data item and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
Assessment on fee decisions to AXA Health's Clinical Risk Committee and other stakeholders.
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships across AXA UK to gain a greater understanding of mutual goals, utilising cross-function support. This includes our in-house team of data scientists and IT specialists.
Complete an annual rolling program to review AXA Health's approach to clinical insights, taking into account changes in clinical practice, evolution of coding languages and schema, improvements in methodologies to ensure adjustments are made which enable comparisons to measures such as length of stay or operating time etc.

About you
What we're looking for:
Demonstrable experience in a similar health Clinical Informatics role. Relevant qualification preferred, but not essential. You may have worked in private healthcare or the NHS.
Analytical skills.
Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills.
Brilliant stakeholder management skills, able to work collaboratively across multiple teams.
Influencing skills, with ability to negotiate across all levels.
Ability to present at board level meetings, both internally and externally.
Attention to detail.
Passionate about continuous improvement.
