Job Title: Night Manager, Supported Living Services (CNM2)
This post is a Permanent 18.75 Hrs a week contract.
Accountable to: Area Manager (CNM3)

Role Description:
- The Night Manager (CNM2) is a key lead role, which fully supports the realisation of Cheeverstown Strategic Plan and Time to Move On National Policy.
- The Night Manager (CNM2) has responsibility for supported living services across Cheeverstown service. This includes both campus and community homes. The role holds governance accountability. It is an operational management position, and a key leadership role to staff working during night hours.
- The manager ensures consistent high-quality supports are provided in line with best practice, using a Person-Centered approach in accordance with Transforming Lives and New Directions Standards.
- Flexibility is required in relation to governance schedule to provide Governance and Management across service areas.

Key Responsibilities:
Assume a lead management approach within the service which ensures that Cheeverstown:
- Achieves its strategic and operational priorities and goals, with particular focus on Time to Move On from Congregate Settings
- Meets its various compliance obligations, particularly, but not limited to HIQA
Actively promote and live the ethos, mission, vision, and values of Cheeverstown Service
Provide line management to and supervision of staff as assigned.
Perform any other tasks, assignments, or duties required as arise from time to time or in line with requirements of the organisation
Will maintain a high level of presence in locations, sufficient to ensure that the post holder has a strong first-hand sense of the quality of the experience of the person supported, and also to provide supervision and support to the staff team
Team Management and Leadership
To provide quality and professional management and leadership to staff on night duty shift.
To be a team leader and a team player, and have excellent communication skills; both verbally and in writing.
Ensure that staff establish and maintain relationships with residents based on respect and equality, and promote their independence in keeping with the values of Cheeverstown.
Will work effectively to build and sustain local teams, promoting the contribution of all staff grades
Ensure that the policies of Cheeverstown House are implemented and adhered to.
To operate within the framework of the policies, character and ethics which govern the work of Cheeverstown.
Maintain awareness of employee legislation and foster good employee relations by dealing with any issues as they arise.
To carry out staff engagements and staff supervision
Quality, Risk and Safety
To develop and promote collaborative relationships with the objective of enhancing and maintaining quality person centred care, and keeping updated on the overall service.
To ensure the supports provided is of the highest quality.
To follow a continuous quality improvement framework, and be proactive in identifying areas for improvement and be a key player in terms of response.
To audit, and to present on findings and share learning.
To be proactive with regard to risk, and positive risk assessment.
To ensure risk policy is followed and any areas concerning safety are highlighted and follow process to reduce / mitigate risks.
Ensure highest standards of Health & Safety are maintained, ensuring all accidents and incidents are reported managed and documented comprehensively.
To be competent to deal with any Safeguarding alleged or confirmed abuse of any resident in accordance with the Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons at risk of Abuse National Policy and Procedures.
Resource Management
To manage resources within a defined budget, with particular attention to minimal use of agency and overtime
Self-Development
To maintain professional registration with relevant professional body (NMBI).
To assume responsibility for his/her own professional development and safe work practice.
To keep up to date on 'Cheeverstown the organisation' and support the progress of all strategic goals
To hold significant knowledge of social care sector, emerging government policies and strategic drivers for the wider work of Cheeverstown.
To be open to further education and learning to enhance skills and competencies.
To continuously update skills and competencies in line with Best Practice on issues associated with development in the Intellectual Disability field.
Expectations:
The post holder will respond in person to locations of the service.
The Night Manager (CNM2) will exhibit flexibility in respect of working locations and working hours

All job offers are subject to two successful references, qualifications, ongoing Garda vetting and a satisfactory pre-employment medical. Salary will be paid at the Clinical Nurse Manager 2 grade on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales, depending on qualifications and experience.
