Role: Clinical Nurse Specialist-Breast   
Town / Site: London: London Breast Institute, The Princess Grace Hospital.  
Full time: 37.5 hours per week   
Shift times: Monday – Friday  
Permanent contract   
Salary: Competitive (DOE) 

   

We’re looking for a Clinical Nurse Specialist-Breast to join our team at the London Breast Institute, part of Princess Grace Hospital, currently rated “Good” by the CQC.   

   

As a Clinical Nurse specialist, you will also act as resource to other healthcare professionals on breast cancer treatments and supportive care issues, facilitating high quality specialist nursing care to all patients with breast cancer and their families and friends, from diagnosis, during treatment and after treatment, helping them to move forward.  

The post holder will provide clinical leadership which inspires, motivates and empowers nurses within the service and is responsible for effectively managing the financial resources, ensuring the optimal deployment of the nursing workforce to ensure high-quality patient care is delivered and monitored.  

This role will require the post holder to contribute to both corporate and hospital initiatives and plans, particularly in respect of changes in patient care delivery and quality. 

 

The London Breast Institute (LBI) is recognised as one of the best private breast screening and diagnostic treatment centres in the UK. Situated in the heart of London's world-renowned medical district, The Princess Grace Hospital is recognised as one of the best-equipped multidisciplinary private hospitals in the capital. The Princess Grace Hospital has 127 registered beds, including 90 inpatient, 21 day case, 8 endoscopy, an urgent care unit and a Level 3 intensive care unit containing 9 beds, with 24-hour consultant cover and a high dependency unit.   

The hospital also has a several specialised centres, including; The London Breast Institute, recognised as one of the best private breast screening and diagnostic treatment centres in the UK; the London Digestive Centre, a highly specialised outpatient facility offering diagnoses and treatments for all conditions of the stomach, small and large intestines, liver, pancreas, and bile ducts; and The Institute of Sport Exercise and Health, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to sport and exercise medicine.

What you’ll bring:    

 

  • NMC registered Nurse  

  • Post-basic qualification in cancer/palliative care, breast cancer or relevant subject (ENB 998, 237, diploma breast care nursing)  

  • Evidence of continued professional development 

  • Level 2 psychological skills training as per recognised course or working towards 

  • Extensive post registration experience, at Band 6 or above, in cancer, breast care or palliative care  

  • Experience of teaching
