We are currently recruiting a Clinical Nurse Specialist Palliative Care for Community Healthcare Organisation Area 8 Longford Westmeath
The Specialist Palliative Care Service CHO Midlands Louth Meath aims to provide a quality interdisciplinary specialist palliative care service to patients/clients and families living with life limiting conditions by
• Promoting quality of life for patients/clients families and carers
• Fostering excellence in practice
• Education and research
The successful candidate will work as a key member of the multidisciplinary Palliative care team providing a patient / client centred quality service to patients / clients and this specialist practice will encompass a major clinical focus which comprises assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care given to patients / clients and their families.
The CNS post holder will provide advice, support, information and care to those patients/clients and their carers both lay and professional, with palliative care needs registered with the Specialist Palliative Care Team in Laois/Offaly, Longford/Westmeath and Louth/Meath. This will extend to bereavement support of families or individuals following the death of the patient/client.
Nurse Requirements:
- Must be registered with NMBI
- Recognised Third Level Nursing Qualification
- Have a minimum of 1 years’ post registration full time experience or an aggregate of 1 years’ full time experience in the division of the register in which the application is being made
- Have a minimum of 1 years’ experience or an aggregate of 1 years’ full time experience in specialist area of Palliative Care.
- Be required to demonstrate that they have continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the specialist area.
