We’re looking for a Clinical Nurse specialist in upper GI/HPB to join our CNS Team at the Princess Grace Hospital, currently rated “Good” by the CQC.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior nursing post within the division of Surgery.
You should have demonstrable experience of working with people affected by UGI/HPB cancers and a good understanding of both local and national cancer guidelines and pathways. The Clinical Nurse Specialist will support our patients through the upper GI, Hepatobiliary and gastroenterology pathways, working closely with Colorectal CNS.
The CNS will manage a caseload of patients and be an expert resource to UGI/HPB cancer patients and their carer. Acting as a key worker you will use and apply expert knowledge of cancer treatment to oversee and co-ordinate services and personalize the pathway of care for individual patients. This includes ensuring the complex information and support needs of patients and families are addressed. You will possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to work both independently and as a member of the specialist UGI/HPB cancer multidisciplinary team.

What you’ll bring:
NMC registered Nurse
Relevant post registration experience at Band 6 or above in specialty area
Mentoring /Teaching experience
Experience in managing complex and difficult emotional situations
Knowledge of current clinical advances and pathways of care relevant to specialty
Evidence of continuous professional development in clinical area. (i.e. relevant short courses and study days)
Evidence of Advanced Communication Skills (level 2 course), or willing to complete within the first year of employment.
