Job description
The perfusion team at Hammersmith Hospital are seeking to recruit for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join their friendly and committed team. Applications are invited from accredited perfusionists registered with the College of Clinical Perfusion Scientists of Great Britain and Ireland, with experience of adult perfusion practice including cell salvage and intra-aortic balloon therapy.
Approximately 450 adult procedures are performed at Hammersmith Hospital annually including mini bypass and minimally invasive procedures. We are one of three hospitals locally on a rotation covering an acute aortic dissection service. We operate a four-day working week with a 24/7 on-call service which also includes clinical support to the Trust's trauma service based at St. Mary's Hospital. There are also opportunities for involvement in research and personal development.
This post is advertised for a 1-year fixed-term contract to cover perfusion staff undertaking an employment break from March 2024. Applicants requiring part-time working arrangements will be considered for this post. Unfortunately, this post is unsuitable for limited-registration applicants.
The successful candidate will be required to participate fully in the 24/7 on-call perfusion service at Hammersmith Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital. We currently offer a 37.5 hour week, spread over 4 days.
- High level of competence in performing a broad range of routine adult Clinical Perfusion techniques and procedures.
- Contribute to the maintenance of standards and quality in perfusion services.
- Contribute to the education and training of trainee perfusionist and other staff groups.
- Maintain good working relationships with members of the multi-disciplinary team.
