Job description

Role Title Clinical Psychologist Name of Job Holder Department Product & Technology, Spirit Digital Reports to Noel OKelly (TBC) Location Remote, with occasional travel What are the results and outcomes this role is to achieve? Work with the Clinitouch team to lead the clinical development aspects of a Digital assessment tool (based upon validated mental health scoring systems) to enable clinicians to remotely assess patients at their initial presentation at primary care with symptoms of anxiety and/or depression. Design a best in class, evidence-based self-directed support programme (to be delivered using the Clinitouch app) for people experiencing anxiety and/or depression whilst they await initiation of talking therapies. Design a best in class, evidence-based self-directed support programme to support people whilst they reduce and withdraw from medications used to treat anxiety and/or depression. Design materials to support people to remain well after stopping treatment for Anxiety and/or depression. Design a Digital tool to help clinicians differentiate between withdrawal symptoms when reducing/stopping medications used to treat anxiety and/or depression from symptoms associated with a re-emergence of the primary mental health diagnosis. Any reasonable duties shall be undertaken to achieve the above. What performance measures are necessary to measure the above? Design the support programmes in agreed timescales. Deliver all required materials within the fixed 12-month employment time frame. Principal Responsibilities Your primary role will be to develop materials as a formal self-directed programme to support patients with anxiety and/or depression from initial assessment, through treatment initiation and maintenance, to reduction/withdrawal from those medications. Incorporate leading behavioural change techniques to help patients using the support programme to make beneficial changes to their lives and drive ongoing engagement/participation in the self-help and wider monitoring programme. The role includes working with the wider team to incorporate the new materials into Clinitouch remote patient monitoring software. Keep up to date with the latest developments with psychological techniques enabling patients to manage their anxiety and depression and use this to update colleagues and inform our proposition. Build external stakeholder relationships (including with fellow experts, professional bodies commissioners etc). Work with patients in a primary care setting to gain feedback on proposals and materials developed. Manage time and priorities across the project, notify stakeholders of progress against plans and adapt readily to dynamic project outputs. Specific Skills/Competencies A postgraduate qualification in Psychology recognised by the British Psychological Society / HCPC, which enables you to practice at a qualified level (e.g.: Doctorate in Clinical / Counselling Psychology) Have sound knowledge and understanding of different types of depression and anxiety, and how to use clinical questioning to detect different forms of these conditions. Experience in using psychometric tools. Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team. Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to other professional colleagues. Experience developing any form of a self-directed support programme is highly desirable. Experience developing health education delivered remotely is highly desirable.
