Job description
Due to increasing our complex trial research portfolio within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced band 6 Research Nurse to support the Research Delivery Team. They will work at our Clinical Research Centre on B5N in the Royal Gwent Hospital, but also be expected to cove other sites in the Health Board when required, and travel is anticipated.
The post holder will be responsible for the set up and delivery of observational and interventional clinical trials in commercial and non-commercial research studies. The successful applicant will work closely with existing trial administrators, research nurses and research officers.
We are especially keen to hear from applicants who already have experience of research knowledge, especially in CTIMP trials, and are experienced in supervising junior staff.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
• Manage a caseload of clinical trial patients
• Training and assessing junior research staff
• Facilitate the screening and recruitment of patients within clinical trials, as per protocols
• Safety administer treatments and medications as per clinical trial guidance
• Assess, manage and report adverse events and reactions
• Maintain, report and ensure quality patient data
• Promote, and contribute to the success, of our ABUHB Research Strategy
• Line management of staff
