The Role

We are looking to recruit a Clinical Secretary to join the Maternity Ward at University Hospital Wishaw!

The Clinical Secretary will provide comprehensive administrative support to a team of clinicians, enabling clinicians to operate effectively and efficiently.

The Clinical Secretary will also work in accordance with standard operating procedures

Contract type

Band 3 / Fixed Term or Secondment until 31st March 2025 / Part time - 30 hours per week

What we'll need you to bring

  • SVQ level 2 qualification (or equivalent experience) plus experience in healthcare administration or experience in a secretarial role
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Evidence of effective team working and dealing with change
  • Evidence of strong communication skills with patients, clinicians and colleagues.
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Evidence of strong competence with relevant IT systems
  • Audio typing skills

It would be great if you also have:

  • Accredited SACT course / Module
  • General Administrative background with experience in a healthcare administration or experience in a secretarial role.
  • Knowledge of WinScribe/Badger Electronic
  • Sound knowledge of digital dictation system and TrakCare
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word for Windows).
  • Accurate spelling
  • Flexibility
