This exciting post is for a Clinical Support Worker to join our vibrant multi-disciplinary team. You will be working alongside ADHD specialist nurses to promote the health and well-being of children and young people from 6-16 years who are being assessed for an ADHD diagnosis, or have received this diagnosis.

This is a full-time permanent post.

The post will be based in Macclesfield

Main duties of the job

To work as part of the wider and multi-disciplinary service, providing clinical and clerical support in various settings under the supervision of ADHD specialist.

Also, the post requires information and computer technology skills.

All new Clinical Support staff will be required to have completed or working towards the Care Certificate (CWP In-house 2 day training to be completed within 6 months of start date).

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. A small annual fee of £13 per year applies.

New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to minimum standard of 5 GCSE’s
  • Appropriate mental health diploma or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Any qualifications relevant to children.

Knowledge and Expertise

Essential criteria
  • Good Verbal Skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Experience of undertaking audits
  • Computer literacy
  • Demonstrate practices with base level of theoretical knowledge
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding of child development.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working with young people in mental health setting
  • Experience of multiagency working
