We particularly welcome applicants from minority ethnic backgrounds, applicants who have a disability and applicants who are from the LGBTQ+ community to apply for our senior leadership roles.

What is the job role? Are you looking for a change and a chance to progress your leadership and management skills?

This is an exciting time to join our Therapy Service within Coventry Adult Social Care, we are in the process of reviewing our provision of Disabled Facilities Grants and Coventry Equipment Stores (ICES).

As part of this role you will be working with partners across the city and the region to support users, their families and their carers, putting the person at the heart of everything we do, encouraging diverse and inclusive working environments

The Therapy Service within Coventry is key in helping people across diverse communities live fulfilled lives, working alongside social workers, housing improvement officers and other health and social care professionals, committed to achieving the best outcomes..

Through Disabled Facilities Grants and Coventry Equipment Stores, Coventry are providing adaptations/equipment to enable people to remain in their own homes and to allow them to continue to be as independent as possible in daily activities.

You will have the responsibility and accountability for the effective management of the ICES team and the development of the Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) service.

This is an opportunity to lead change, build networks and improve service delivery. You will be instrumental in leading change, managing change, creating new pathways and processes, reviewing current processes with contractors and partners across the region, ensuring the delivery is efficient and best value.

The process of applying and completing DFG adaptations is being reviewed, and you will be responsible for supporting this change, reviewing current policies and improving the service for people of Coventry alongside the Service Manager and Head of Service.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Who are we looking for?The adults we work with come from a variety of diverse backgrounds and in order to deliver the best possible care it is vital that we have a workforce that represents and understands their unique lived experiences and perspectives.

Within our management team people from minority ethnic backgrounds are currently under-represented, as a result we would like to encourage people from minority ethnic backgrounds to apply for this post.  This does not prevent any other applicants with a protected characteristic or a non-protected characteristic from applying.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, culturally competent and dynamic leader that can lead, transform and develop the service area to maximise service delivery and optimise performance. You will need to have experience in managing therapy teams and have experience of change management for this post.

If you have an OT qualification or relevant health and social care background, experience and knowledge of managing budgets (pooled budget), contracts with service providers and managing staff and teams within a Therapy Service, including monitoring and delivering on performance indicators, this role will suit your skill set.

You will be responsible for the governance and implementation of quality standards, catalogues, demonstration and display areas, reporting to Service Manager and Head of Service, Organisational managers and Partnership Board.

A key aspect of this role is to improve DFG performance so an excellent understanding of DFG Legislation and guidance is essential.

In return, we will give you all you need to make a difference, with the help of a supportive staff network, training and development opportunities, and excellent progression opportunities.
