About us The UCL Division of Surgery and Interventional Science is a collaborative and cross-disciplinary environment where clinicians, engineers, allied health professionals and researchers are constantly striving for innovative approaches to treatment. The Division reaching across three London campuses (Bloomsbury, Royal Free and Stanmore) brings together three major research departments; Tissue and Energy, Nanotechnology and Materials and Tissue. About the role The Prostate Cancer Unit at UCL has carried out unprecedented work over the years, transforming our understanding of this disease and the global approaches to diagnosing and treating it. Founded by Professor Mark Emberton, UCL prostate cancer researchers discovered the benefits of using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners for prostate cancer diagnosis. Proved to be efficient and non-invasive, this discovery has doubled the accuracy of prostate cancer diagnosis, allowing thousands of men a year to avoid an unnecessary biopsy. • The advert will close on 11th July 2024 at 23:59 GMT, however we may close applications early if we receive a high volume of applications. GMC registration (Non UK trained applicants must supply at interview evidence of eligibility for full GMC registration) Experience of publishing in peer-reviewed medical journals. Knowledge of prostate cancer, its presentation, diagnosis, available options and treatment side-effect profile would be advantageous. The post holder must have experience of presenting at National and International medical conferences.
