We are currently seeking a registered nurse to join our ever growing team in the Cambridge Cancer Trials Centre (CCTC).

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the rapidly moving field of cancer research. We have a vacancy in our Women's team. This position will particularly focus on the Breast Oncology portfolio.

Main duties of the job
The Clinical Research Nurse will be a member of the Cambridge Cancer Trials Team. The post-holder will work closely with the health care teams associated with the multidisciplinary team.
The key responsibilities are to help to identify patients eligible for
Clinical Trials; provide information and support for patients entering
Clinical Trials; co-ordinate trial patient treatment, assessment, follow-up and data collection according to specific clinical trial protocols. This
will include close liaison with relevant staff of departments including
chemotherapy, radiotherapy, pharmacy, radiology, outpatients and inpatients, Research & Development and Ethics departments

Essential criteria
Registered nurse or if practitioner, a relevant biomedical degree
Evidence of continuous professional development

Experience
Essential criteria
Relevant clinical experience in an oncology and/or clinical research environment e.g. Clinical Trials, participant recruitment and interviewing
Experience of formal/informal teaching
Supervision of junior staff
Desirable criteria
Experience of working in the research area advertised
Knowledge
Essential criteria
Knowledge of clinical research infrastructure in the UK and of research related legislation & regulation
Understand the structure, role & functions of RECs and R&D departments
Understand the requirements of ICH Good Clinical Practice

Possess current GCP Certificate
Knowledge of current therapeutic interventions and their side effects
